I’ve been working on this one for a while! It’s finally finished and scanned. It’s not a perfect scan, but it will have to do. I gave up on hoping for perfect scans of watercolors long ago.
Anyways, I’ve sort of got an informal series going I guess. Paintings of paintings. See the first one here. And here are some details of the new one…
This is a little stop-motion animation that my friend Nate and I made way back when we were in high school. We had made a few longer and much cruder animations prior to this. We made this particular animation as sort of a test, trying out some new techniques (new for us, anyways). The results, I think, were pretty good considering we were (and still are) two guys with absolutely no actual animation training.
Nate recently moved back here and we’re working on another little animation right now. I don’t want to say anything about it just yet though!
In other news, I recently started a neat little blog with some amazing friends. It’s called INK MOUNTAIN and it’s all about comics and illustration. Please, take a gander!
This big illustration I’ve been working on is just about finished. I’ll probably add a couple finishing touches over the weekend and then hopefully have it scanned early next week.
The prints! I should have them in hand by the middle of next week. It’s going to be an extremely limited run. I only ordered a few extras beyond what was pre-ordered. Hurry over to my store if you want dibs on one!
I received a proof copy of my new print in the mail today. It looks GREAT. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think it was the original painting.
Yet another glimpse at my next painting in-progress. It’s very close to being finished, but I’m probably going to have to take it somewhere to be scanned because it’s HUGE and definitely won’t fit in my dinky little scanner.
Another in-progress shot. I’ll hopefully have this finished in another day or two.
There’s a little tiny review of You Ain’t No Dancer 3 over here on the Top Shelf blog. They mention my story as one of several favorites in the book. Thanks, Top Shelf!
Not long after the MoCCA Fest I sold out of the copies of Pearly Whites that I still had left. I just reprinted it with a new and improved cover! Color printing on speckled 80 lb. stock. Interior pages printed on 100% recycled paper. Now available in my store.
Thanks to everyone that pre-ordered a print! If you missed out on the special pre-order offer, don’t worry! You can still order one!
Welcome! I’ve moved my creaky old blog from blogspot onto my own website and given it a MAJOR facelift with a little wordpress magic. Please update your bookmarks and feeds accordingly!
Just so this post isn’t without any art, here’s a blast from the past. I drew this while manning my table at SPX a few years ago.
A few quick things! The Are You Man Enough? mini comics are now available again in my store. Pearly Whites mini comics will be available again within the next day or two. And just another reminder that tomorrow (Wednesday) is the last day I’ll be offering free shipping for my new prints! Swing by my store for more details on the prints or to place an order.
Help break in the new store. Code NEWSTORE gets 20% off New Reliable books til July 19!
For those that don’t know, I’ve drawn a few comics for New Reliable Press, all of which can be found in their terrific You Ain’t No Dancer anthologies.
Just a peek at the pencils for some something I’m working on.
Hey! Tomorrow (Wednesday) is the LAST DAY to take advantage of my free shipping offer for my new prints! Thanks so much to everyone that’s ordered so far!
