The Sewer Man

the sewer man
This is a panel from a comic that I started drawing a couple years ago. It was going to be for a split mini comic that I was working on with my friend Natasha, but for one reason or another neither of us ever finished working on our stories. I doubt we’ll ever pick it back up again, but we do have another project that we work on together.

A Good Year For Mustaches

Are You Man Enough? has been named as one of the top ten mini comics of 2008 by Shawn Hoke over on his awesome mini comics review blog, Size Matters. Thanks, Shawn!

“A felt mustache on the cover and a 5-page drum solo within? Yeah, that’s a 10 Best Mini.”

It also made Josh Blair’s list of favorite mini comics from 2008 over on the Candy Or Medicine blog. Thanks, Josh!

I’ve been a bit of a slacker in regards to getting the ball rolling with a second printing of Man Enough. Until I manage to get that going, you can read it online for free.

My trip to Boston a couple weeks ago was really awesome. The POP Euphoria opening in Worcester was great. I forgot to take my camera to the opening, but I did have it with me the rest of the weekend. I posted a bunch of pictures to my flickr account, mostly from the time I spent exploring Cambridge with some friends. If you’re ever in that area, be sure to stop by the Harvard Bookstore. I picked up a pile of graphic novels for a fraction of the price they usually cost. Here’s a picture I stole from my friend Rosy, taken on top of a mysterious tower we found while exploring Mount Auburn Cemetery near Harvard:

The POP Euphoria show is still hanging at the Aurora Gallery until January 17th, so even if you missed the opening event you can still go check out all the great art (and maybe buy one of my pieces?!)

I’m going to spend the next couple of days avoiding the mall and then I’ll be heading down to Philadelphia for Christmas, so if I don’t see you: have a fun holiday!

TONIGHT

Hey Massachusetts!

POP Euphoria

Just a reminder that the opening for the POP Euphoria show is happening this evening (Saturday) at the Aurora Gallery in Worcester. I’ve got a couple of pieces in the show. The list of contributors is awesome. You can get more info here. I’m going to be in Boston for the weekend (should be arriving sometime this afternoon) and am planning on swinging by Worcester for the opening with a few friends. I hope to see you there.

I’ll be in NYC for a day or two after Boston. I’ll attempt to check in on my inbox every so often while traveling, but if for some reason I’m unable to do so: I’ll be back home sometime on Tuesday and will get back to you then!
